This map lays out the roots and prefixes for today's session: the reproductive specialty, the uterus, pregnancy and birth, the newborn, and the breast.

gynec/o names the female-reproductive specialty. uter/o and hyster/o point to the uterus. mamm/o and mast/o point to the breast.

obstetr/o concerns pregnancy and childbirth. nat/o concerns birth; neonat/o concerns a newborn.

The time prefixes do much of the decoding: before, around, or after birth.
